Planning & Land Development

The Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent regions are a hotbed of development, and our communities are quickly becoming some of the most active in Ontario. While there is significant development going on in the region, there is no reason for developers to haul out to London or Toronto to seek legal advice. Builders and developers need to know their rights and responsibilities throughout each stage of a project, and we are happy to provide that advice right in their own backyard.

We regularly assist with matters such as severances, easements, expropriations, private road agreements, subdivisions, variances, site plan agreements, and other agreements that need to be drafted and in place before a project can proceed. We work with builders themselves, construction firms, public and private interest groups, and even individuals who are going through these major project undertakings.

We assist our clients through all stages of a project, from initial planning and due diligence right down to the final sale. Projects can quickly become complicated, especially if bylaw and zoning issues are standing in the way. We appear on behalf of our clients before administrative tribunals, committees of adjustment, municipal councils, the Ontario Municipal Board, and courts at all levels. We’ll also help deal with heritage or landmark preservation issues, ensure that all codes are compliant, and provide counsel on other issues such as environmental impacts and licensing.

We’ll work with your to provide the strategic advice that you need for your project at a fraction of the cost, and a fraction of the drive.
